This is a meeting in which the Board of County Commissioners is to review
a proposed amendment to the current approved Alafaya Reserve (Morgran
PD) plan which will be developed across the street from the Avalon Park
main entrance off of Alafaya Trail. The current approved plan allows for 366
Single Family Homes, 496 Townhomes, 670 Apartments and 120,000 SF of
Commercial Development. Morgran has submitted a revision to the current
approved plan that would eliminate the townhomes and increase the number
of the Apartments from 670 to 1,213. Morgran has also asked to increase the
size of the Commercial Development from 120,000 SF to 357,400 SF. An
increase in Single Family Homes was also submitted to add an additional 21
homes.
It has been suggested that this amendment, if approved may increase the
already problematic traffic in our area. This could also possibly be a
detriment to the already established local business in Avalon Park and
surrounding areas. Let your voice be heard. Please attend this meeting as we
have more power in numbers. The exact time this will be discussed at the
BCC Meeting will be posted on our website as soon as the county’s agenda
